KC-135 Hours Logged Since April 2005:  860 hrs

  Total Air Force Time:  1158hrs

24 Jan - 17 Apr 2007: Altus AFB - Aircraft Commander Upgrade School.

13 Nov - 20 Dec 2006: Exercise Iron Falcon - GUS, Sigonnella, Al Dhafra, Crete, Moron, Pease, GUS - Joint Exercise

with Shaw AFB F-16s, Pakistani F-16s, Bahraini F-16s, Emirate F-16s, Saudi F-15s, French Mirages, and British

Tornados in the United Arab Emirates.  Spent roughly a month in Abu Dhabi, participating in a Middle East version

of Red Flag.  Great time, a lot of flying.

27 Oct - 28 Oct 2006: Reserve Airlift Support - GUS, KRND, KMXF, GUS - Flew the commander of Air University (Lt. Gen Lorenz) and roughly a dozen or so Brig.Generals from Randolf to Maxwell.  Was supposed to be going to St Croix this weekend for 3 days but they needed an extra pilot to fill this trip.  Hopefully I'll get on the next St Croix Aeromed.

5 Sep - 21 Sep 2006: Guam AEF - GUS, PHIK, PGUA, PHIK, GUS - Spent a few weeks in Guam for our annual AEF cycle.  Was able to get a couple scuba dives in while there.  We flew only a few times, refueling the B-52s.  I ran into Jason McCargar who I went to OTS with, he's a B-52 Nav out of Minot and recently became a father - Congrats!

17 Aug - 19 Aug 2006: 45th Space Wing - GUS, KCOS, KCOF, GUS - Flew to Colorado Springs to pick up members

of the 45th Space Wing, along with their commander, who happens to hold the record for longest space walk in

NASA (and world) history.  She (the General) and Jim Voss, another astronaut spent almost 9 hours working on the international space station, back in March of 2001.  We flew their team from C-Springs to Patrick AFB FL, where they

were greeted with fanfare for winning the Schriever Trophy for some Air Force competition.

7 Aug - 11 Aug 2006:  Ellsworth AFB SD - B1 Support.  Flew up to South Dakota for the week.  Ellsworth is really close

to Mt Rushmore, so we drove there one day.  It's also very close to Sturgis, and it just so happened to be bike week

this week...I think they said there was something like 40,000 bikes there.  Got a chance so drive through the mountains,

it's very pretty country.  The B1s flew every night, so we didn't have too much free time, but it was still a very good trip.

31 July - 5 Aug 2006:  Las Vegas NV  - 5 Day TDY, in support of some ALCM testing.  Ended up not flying once,

so we had essentially all week to hang out and enjoy all the sunny weather, good food, and entertainment Las

Vegas has to offer.  Pretty good deal...

17 July - 20 July 2006:  Civic Leaders - GUS, KORD, KRIV, KCOS, KORD, GUS

Flew to Chicago, picked up the 4th Air Force commander, as well as 39 civic leaders from the Chicago area.

Flew them all to Riverside CA, then to Colorado Springs for an Air Force Reserve PR mission.  Got to meet

some cool people on this trip.  On the way to Riverside, we refueled an E6, and all the pax had a chance to sit

in the Boom pod and watch the refueling.

21 May - 30 June 2006: Al Udeid AB, Qatar - 35 Day Deployment - GUS, KRDR, EGUN, OTBH, EGUN, KRDR, GUS

Spent 35 days in a trailer in the desert at Al Udeid AB Qatar. Logged roughly 100 combat hours flying missions

over both Afghanistan and Iraq. We averaged a sortie every other day. Typical temperatures were in the 110s,

but in the jet it was well over 130 F during the daytime. Got to see some cool stuff, and had a really good active

duty crew (I was fortunate). Will consider doing another deployment sometime next year after I finish

Aircraft Commander upgrade training. Got to see alot of friends from pilot training and OTS who happened to be

deployed there at the same time. This seems like the place to be these days...

11 Apr - 27 Apr 06: Keflavik, Iceland - AEF  - GUS, BIKF, EGUN, GUS

Spent another two weeks in lovely Iceland.  Had the opportunity to go out and see alot more of the country

this time due to better weather and more adventurous company.  Even with good weather however, we still

managed to find a way to divert to England.  One day we set out for a 2 hour local sortie, on approach back

into Iceland the fighters in front of us attempted to land and couldn't make it, so we had to drag them across

the pond to England.  We landed in Mildenhall with smelly flightsuits, and no overnight gear.  Good times.

31 Mar - 2 Apr 06: Travis Aeromed Support - GUS, SUU, COS,  GUS

Aeromed unit transportation.  And I got to crash a wedding in Colorado Springs with our DO.

14 Mar - 30 Mar 06: Keflavik, Iceland - AEF  - GUS, BIKF, GUS

Two weeks in Iceland.  Very little to do, I think we only flew 3 times, and there wasn't much to do when we

weren't  flying except watch movies, and play pool.  Still had fun.
